Ples Jones – The Euphony EP

An electronic music producer and house artist from Pittsburgh, Ples Jones is known to work with megaminds in the industry including Stonebridge, Crystal Waters and more. Jones took his respect, admiration and deep passion for music from Pittsburgh to Washington DC, where things really started to heat up for his career. Ples Jones learned from some of the best house producers in the business: The Basement Boys and Crystal Waters. He then took what he learned from these legends and made his way back to the Steel City to perfect his craft.

Ples Jones has performed at Winter Music Conference,, earning him a standing ovation from over 2,000 WMC attendees and music industry peers – this was the turn for the talented artist, and his talent was only going to continue to rise. Nearly a decade later, Ples Jones is still creating the funky and soulful deep house and electro music we love, channeling influence from Stonebridge, Laidback Luke, Bingo Players – and more.
“Keep it simple, keep it funky.”
Recently he did a guest mix for 5 magazine for their UK Garage series. Check it out…

Acoustic Truth

Acoustic Truth reaches out to their audience with a deep impassioned blend of sultry vocals and acoustic guitar. This Chicago, IL, USA based duo are taking music back to its roots, focusing on writing songs audiences can relate to, songs that resonate and illicit a heartfelt response.

The perfect example of this is their song ‘Hush‘, a song about a parent’s loss of their beloved child. In this song Sarah Lendy’s voice exudes a full-bodied soulful presence, it is as beautiful and natural as the parent’s love it sings about. Accompany that with Ryan Knott’s acoustic guitar melody and the moving lyrics and you get a beautiful yet humbling piece of work.

Ryan’s venture into music was completely random. He picked up a guitar one day and never put it down. He spent a lot of time practicing while he was attending Duke University. Also, while at Duke he made some recordings starting with hip hop then moving to acoustic later. He had some friends that were successful in music which was a great motivator for him to continue on to share his gift.

Sarah grew up singing at church and in the choir. She would spend time playing the guitar and writing songs, but it was not until she met Ryan that she started to share them. She did not realize that music was something she could pursue.

In 2011 Ryan and Sarah became friends while working at a Summer camp for children with special needs. It was’t until the end of Summer that they discovered they both  did music. They returned to college following the camp but remained in contact with each other and would send songs back and forth and eventually they decided to write a song together.

When writing songs Ryan and Sarah  feel impassioned; they choose to write about things that impact real people, they try to envision themselves in the shoes of the person they are writing about. This comes through in their music loud and clear.

Currently Acoustic Truth is in Chicago focusing on recording a lot of original tracks. They have several big plans in the works for the future, including a trip to Beverly Hills in June to play for some well respected people in the music industry. For Acoustic Truth, it is not about the fame or fortune, its more about insipring people through their words.

This duo is headed for big things. I have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to hear their music, and wish them them best in their goals.
