Heavy hitting dirteh business!!
“Well what a combination we have here, as we invite the legendary pairing of Vital Techniques and General Levy back to Four40 on remix duty, as the team return alongside some ferocious reworks and a bag of top notch guests for one our favourite ever producer-vocalist link ups.
First of all, we jump into the official vocal remix, for which we invite a host of the country’s highest ranking vocalists to get involved, including Dread MC, Devilman & Killa P, who all supply some major heat with their high energy appearances, chopping and changing rapid fire flows.
We are also lucky enough to grab a pair of very exciting remixes, as we first invite the ever-evolving sounds of 9TRANE jump into remix mode, refitting the grimey original with a set of heavy, darkened techy bass themes, followed up by DeadbeatUK’s super wonky bassline refurbishment. What a selection!“
A basement studio in southern Stockholm, October 1989. If anyone would have told BTECH label boss/producer Jan Ekholm and DJ team Quartz that the samples and drum loops they were playing around with this Sunday afternoon would become a house classic, they would have laughed.
But the result, ”Let’s Get Busy”, wasn’t only a huge club hit when released in early 1990 under the name Clubland (with a No 1 in the Billboard Club Chart as the biggest achievement). 30 years later, it is indeed a true house classic.
Clubland followed up ”Let’s Get Busy” with a string of even bigger hits, such as ”Hold On (Tighter To Love)”, ”Set Me Free” and ”(I’m Under) Love Strain”. But despite the success, ”Let’s Get Busy” is the track that has stood the test of time, and is still being played by DJs all over the world.
This fall, by public demand, we’re bringing you Clubland again with a selection of re-issues and new remixes. The obvious track to begin with is of course – ”Let’s Get Busy”.
For the second part of the ”Let’s Get Busy” 2019 package, UK garage legend Grant Nelson dusted off the 30 year old tape and came out with a chunky remix, taking the track into the next decade.
”I’m really happy with the result, it’s got the oldskool flavour in there for fans of the original and a nice switch up to some funky tribal beats for the nuskool”, says Grant Nelson.
